Our most popular specialty course is the Nitrox Diver course. Enriched Air/Nitrox, is air that has been enriched with oxygen so that it has more than 21% oxygen.
Nitrox can be used in many ways by all divers and in all dive environments. No-Stop bottom times are extended due to the lowered level of nitrogen in the breathing gas. It is also possible to use it in a way to reduce the potential for DCS. Some Nitrox divers believe that they feel less tired after the dive, when using enriched air scuba tanks.
During the nitrox course you learn to select the appropriate nitrox mixture for your planned depth, analyse the mix to ensure accuracy and safety, and determine the oxygen exposure limits after each dive. The academic session lasts approx 4 hours with a quiz at the end of it to assess your knowledge.
Certification brings you into one of the fastest growing sides of recreational diving in the world. Once certified you will be allowed to obtain Nitrox fills up to 40% oxygen from any authorized Dive Centre and hire Nitrox equipment and analyze your fills.
We can start your course almost any day. Depending on what instructor is available we can do the course through SSI, TDI or PADI.
It is also possible to do the course onboard our liveaboard MV Vilai Samut, where we have our own nitrox filling station. When doing the nitrox course onboard our liveaboard you will get free nitrox fills for the rest of our trip.
