Good food in Khao Lak
Very often we get questions about what restaurants to visit. We always say that you don’t really get disappointed with the food anywhere. However, there is a rule that we try to follow – Go to a restaurant that isn’t full. At full restaurants you often end up getting slow service, and you might end up waiting for well over an hour to get what you ordered.
If you are looking for a genuine, slightly upmarket Thai restaurant, we would recommend “Takeang”. The food is about 20 Baht more expensive per dish, but the food is very good and the restaurant is nicely decorated. Service is better than in most other restaurants. Another slightly more expensive restaurang is Phu Khao Lak . Not as genuinly Thai, but the food is very good and the service is better here than anywhere else in Khao Lak.
If you are feeling homesick, try Viking Restuarant on the main road in Khao Lak, our favourite is their Salami Pizza and they have a great salad bar, or Joe’s Steak House in Bang Niang.
Sunset in Khao Lak
There are a few beach bars where you can sit and enjoy the sunset. It is not unusual to end up staying at a beach bar all night. Most of them also serve food.
