Good food in Khao Lak

Very often we get questions about what restaurants to visit. We always say that you don't really get disappointed with the food anywhere. However, there is a rule that we always try to follow - Go to a restaurant that isn't full. At full restaurants you often end up getting slow service, and you might end up waiting for well over an hour to get what you ordered.

If you are looking for a genuin, slightly upmarket Thai restaurant, we would recommend "Takeang". The food is about 20 Baht more expensive per dish, but the food is very good and the restaurant is niely decorated. Service is better than in most other restaurants. Another slihtly more expesive restaurang is Phu Khao Lak. Not as genuinly Thai but the food is very good, and the service is better ere than anywhere else in Khao Lak.

There are a few beach bars where you can sit and enjoy the sunset. It is not unusual to end up staying at a beach ar all night. Most of them also serve food.

Live music at the Happy Snapper, Khao Lak

Khao Lak is not known to be a right out party destination, but there are a few venues that gets going in the evening. It is not only couples and families coming to Khao Lak.

The Happy Snapper is the most popular pub. They have live music on every night but sundays. The band, The Snapper Brothers, is really good. they play rock, blues and reggie. Most days at about midnight Nigel goes on to the stage to play. A few nights every week we get to hear our manager Keith singing, as well. Musicians on vacation in Khao Lak are more than welcome to join in, as well. You would be surprised to know how many good international musicians that travels to Khao Lak.
