This is probably the liveaboard boat at the Similan Islands that gives you best value for your money. The boat belongs to a company in Phuket, but it departs from Khao Lak We have been working together with MV West Coast Explorer for three years and never heard anything negative about the boat ore the staff. The tourleader, Andy is English, and he knows the Similans on he back of his hand.
The West Coast Explorer is managed by western standards in terms of safety and organisation, also environmental awareness is given great importance. Onboard the staff is making sure you have a great time.
The boat is 22 meters long and takes no more than 16 guests. All cabins have bun beds. There are two toilets with hot shower plus another hot shower and two more shower heads on the dive platform.
MV West Coast Explorer is following a standard four day schedule including 14 dives, however, they are unusually flexible and will swap between dive sites in order to avoid crowds. You will get to dive all the very best dive sites at the Similans and dives at Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu rock.
